This year BioBlitz! participants are invited to get their hands dirty with a service project on Sunday morning of BioBlitz! weekend. As many BioBlitzers know, the Oklahoma State Parks budge has been cut by 70% in the last 10 years! This leaves the parks with fewer resources and personel to maintain the parks we love. BioBlitz! staff have been looking for ways to help the parks and enhance the natural areas that we want to protect. On Sunday 9:00-11:00, BioBlitz! participants have the opportunity to help with invasive species removal in natural areas. No experience is necessary. We will have a limited supply of tools and gloves and you are welcome to bring your own clippers, saws, and gloves. Snacks will be provided to volunteers. This activity is not recommended for young children or people with mobility difficulties.
